Trigger warning: this episode discusses topics which may be triggering for some. Our episode starts with the story of Emily Callahan, an American nurse activity manager with Doctors Without Borders, who shared her experience working with Palestinians in Gaza before returning to the US. 07:49 - Source: CNN

In this episode, the Gritty Nurses discuss the role of nursing and war. They discuss nurses' roles during war & conflict, nurses' experiences, international law during war and the fact that hospitals and healthcare should NEVER be militant targets. They discuss how war affects healthcare and nursing and the types of trauma nurses can encounter. More importantly, how nurses can keep themselves safe, how to support nurses during war, and how we can prepare ourselves if ever needed to work during a war or crisis.

Please listen, lift your voices, and help us protect those who are vulnerable during times of war.
